Jennifer Rice, D.D.S. and James Rice, D.D.S.
General Dentistry
Drs. Jim and Jennifer Rice graduated in 1985 and 1984 from the West Virginia School of Dentistry, one of the top dental schools in the nation. The doctors have practiced for over 24 years in the Crozet, Virginia area and in 1996, opened a second office in the village of Nellysford, near the Wintergreen Resort area. They have been married 24 years and have lived in the Charlottesville area with their family since 1986.

Both Dr. James and Dr. Jennifer stay current on all the latest advances in dentistry by studying many hours of continuing education each year and have completed extensive training courses in restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, implant dentistry, anxiety free dentistry and both are certified to provide Invisalign, the invisible way to straighten teeth without braces.
It is very important to them that they and their staff stay on the cutting edge of dental technology, in order to provide their patients with the very best dentistry has to offer.

Sherman Smock, D.D.S.
Periodontist
Dr. Sherman Smock, Specialist in Periodontics joined our Nellysford office in 1997. He has had his primary periodontal practice in Lynchburg since 1977. He is a 1971 graduate of the University of Tennessee School of Dentistry. He then completed his Periodontal specialty residency in 1977 at the Gracewood State School and Hospital in Augusta Georgia. Dr. Smock has had extensive training in all phases of implant dentistry and Periodontics. He completed additional training in implants at Howard University from 1994 to 1996.
Dr. Smock conveys the same warm, caring attitude toward his patients that puts you at ease and lets you know you are in capable hands. He will treat you like family.
Appointments with Dr. Smock can be made on Mondays in the Nellysford location of Drs. Rice and Associates. This means not having to be referred to a different office, further away, for care. As convenient as this is, there are many, many benefits for the patient. As both the restorative dentist and the implant dentist are present in the same office during your treatment, any needed discussions can be handled right then and there.
